Product Description
Creatures is one of the largest experiments in artificial life. You can breed your own life forms called Norns who live on the Capillata space ship. Because they have neural network brains Norns can be taught right from wrong but because they have their own personalities they may not always do what you want them to do. Share or exchange Norns through the docking station which connects to the internet.System Requirements:Mac: OS X 10.2 10.3 10.4 CPU: G3 - 900MHz G4 - 700Mhz G5 RAM: 128 MB Video: 800 x 600 Sound: Standard Macintosh CD-ROM: 12X 300 MB of hard drive disk space WIN:Windows 98 2000 ME XP CPU: Pentium II RAM: 128 MB Video & Sound: DirectX Compatible CD-ROM: 12X 300 MB of hard drive disk space Format: WIN 98ME2000XP/MAC 10.1 OR LATER Genre: CHILDREN Rating: NR UPC: 632332281101 Manufacturer No: 281101

Cynthia K. Parker Said: Very disappointing ( Jan. 15th 2009 )
Some things cannot be improved upon. Unfortunately, Creatures is one of them. The original game was brilliant and fun, but each new version and expansion is worse than the previous one, with this one being boring and unplayable. I was a huge fan, and this is a huge disappointment.
Warning - Half of this game is completely inaccessible since the company's server no longer exists. So you will be able to play the basic game but not the Exodus part.
La Luna Lupe Said: Does not work on Vista ( Jan. 2nd 2009 )
I loved this game in its heyday several years ago, but the technical issues are getting to be a bit much. I'm hoping they'll license the title out to another company so more Creatures content can be developed.
A. Bowen Said: A great game but could have had more ( Feb. 18th 2008 )
I'm a huge fan of Creatures and have all of the main games (1,2,3 and DS). Creatures Exodus is a compilation of Creatures 3 and Creatures Docking Station. Both were good games, and Creatures 3 was a dramatic improvement from Creatures 2. If your interested in trying out this game you can download DS for free from Creature Labs official website.
Now, there are a few problems with this release that caused me to rate it as four stars. DS and Creatures 3 were the first games to offer additional content that you purchased though an online store (Creatures Mall). Since Creatures Lab disbanded, this content has been unavailable to late comers. It's a shame that most of this content isn't offered in Exodus. You get the standard set of Creatures 3 Norns along with the Chichi, Harlequin, and Fallow Norn. If you go to the official website you can get the Magma Norns for free. That means Exodus is missing the Banshee Grendels, Treehugger Norns, Toxic Norns, Astro Norns, Hardman Norns, Zebra Norns, Bondi Norns, and the Siamese Norns. That's a lot of content we're missing!
strangedoll Said: dissapointing ( Mar. 13th 2007 )
I'm a big fan of cute breeding animal type games. The Sims Pets, the little chao in the Sonic games, and Viva Pinata are all great.
Honestly, Creatures was dissapointing. It doesn't come with instructions, and it doesn't have that "walk you through it tutorial" thing that most games have. It was too hard to figure out how to operate it. Typing text controls is just clunky.
In all fairness, I think the concept is great and if someone was willing to put a few hours into learning the controls, it might be a neat game. But as far as pick-up-and-go factor, I was bored and frustrated within 30 minutes and haven't played it again since.

This is an exelent life simulation game. It's like having a real pet except you never need to clean a litter box or take them for a walk even when it is raining. They remember what you teach them and pass it on to their children. They are fun to watch.
