Question: Can you have a return flight booked months after the departure flight?

( Back )

Answer #1:

You can space out the distance between the outbound and return flights as far as the airline will allow in the rules of your fare. Generally speaking, airlines require that the return flight on a round-trip ticket be taken one year from the date of the ticket's issue, but this can vary depending on the airline.

You won't have a problem buying a ticket with a three-month span between the outbound and return.
